Founded in July 2011, SkillsYouNeed is a new and expanding web-service. We are based in the heart of Wales, a rural part of the UK. With years of experience in education, both face-to-face and through distance learning, we believe we know the skills needed to help improve people's lives, both professionally and personally. We are a small independent business, researching and writing our own materials.

SkillsYouNeed attracts a diverse and growing international audience.

Our content is not only used by individuals but also by schools, colleges, universities and commercial organisations around the world. SkillsYouNeed is part of the UK Web Archive, officially archived by the National Library of Wales - http://www.webarchive.org.uk/.

“The UK Web Archive is a partnership between the National Library of Wales, the British Library, JISC, and the Wellcome Library... We have identified [skillsyouneed.com] as an important part of Wales’ documentary heritage and would very much like it to remain available to researchers in the future. The archived copy of [skillsyouneed.com] will form part of our permanent collections.”

We are happy that our content is also used in books, journals, teaching materials, training resources, web sites, blogs and student assignments globally.

To offer a free service accessible to all.
To produce and publish high-quality, well researched and easy-to-read information about essential life skills.
To stay up-to-date with current affairs, trends and research, and to reflect this in our content.
To develop links with education providers and other relevant bodies.
