The Epworth Sleepiness Scale was first developed in 1990 and then later revised in 1997 - it is a simple test used internationally to determine an individual's level of daytime sleepiness. The test is often used to help diagnose Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) and other sleep disorders.
